Materials I have written so Third Way Alignment can be learned by anyone, from a children's story to technical setup guides, without losing the core message of cooperation and mutual respect.
You do not need a background in AI to understand this. Start with a short story a child can follow, move up to plain explanations for teens and adults, and go all the way to the full papers if you want them. Pick the door that fits you.
The Misunderstood Parrot
The centerpiece for general readers is a story. The Misunderstood Parrot explains the basics of Third Way Alignment through the adventures of a parrot that nobody understands at first: how misunderstandings arise between different kinds of intelligence, and how patience, communication, and cooperation resolve conflicts that fear and control cannot. The parrot stands in for AI, and the story is written to be read by children and adults alike, together or alone.
The story page includes age-banded discussion questions for reading groups, classrooms, and families.
A note on the video version: an earlier edition of this page embedded an animated video of the story. The videos have been removed from the site and the files no longer exist, so no video is offered here. The story itself, in text form, is the complete work.
Learning paths by audience
The same framework, presented at three levels. Each path keeps the core ideas intact while adjusting depth and vocabulary.
Young learners
Roughly ages 5 to 12. Stories and simple concepts that introduce AI ethics through familiar situations and characters.
